This is a new twist on a old idea. Room dividers have been around a while but not with this much style. Now you can enhance your decor and hide your clutter at the same time. Decorative room dividers can offer many decorating options that can make a real impact in your home or office. The large surface area of a room divider gives you the chance to use your favorite style of decor to change the surroundings. I scored points last fall when I helped my teenage daughter purchase a bamboo screen for her room. She has beach style decor with a little surfer attitude. The bamboo screen really set the room off.
Separate or hide that home office. Almost every household has at least a small office area for the computer. Decorative screens can hide or separate that area from the rest of your fine decor. The application shouldn’t corral the desk or computer area just slightly block it from plain view. You can accomplish this and also add a elegant look at the same time. Too good to be true.
Create a Walkway. Room dividers or screens can be used to direct traffic and add that striking element of decor at the same time. I have been told that more customers use privacy screens placed in back of a sofa lining one side of a front door entry. Small entry areas can be expanded and enhanced by the addition of a portable screen on one side. The best application I have seen incorporated lights shining from below the screen to give it a slight glow.
Add a Portable Wall. The most inexpensive way to create two rooms out of one is to add one or a series of room dividers. You can purchase dividers in many styles that are as tall as six feet. Many customers have used a couple room dividers to separate a small child’s play corner or study area. We have two room dividers in our home that gave me the privacy and time alone to write this article.
Separate the Office. Offices away from home have been using privacy screens or room dividers to give employees their own private space to conduct business for years. Now these screens can be both functional and look good. Your office can have a theme just like a home. Oriental decor to traditional decor it’s your choice. Well, I guess it’s the bosses choice.
Add to the Theme of Your Home. Decorative screens can be just that decorative. Add a touch of oriental class to your living room or dining room. Oriental room dividers have been around for a very long time and I can see why. The delicate thin lines that make up a bamboo screen or room divider really adds elegance to the room.
There is so many decorating ideas that involve the use of decorative screens. The challenge is of course to find the right idea for your setting. Often just one screen can provide the right touch to your decor.
